Spark of Hope #66 – I packed for this hometown trip to New York full of anticipation about the scheduled events. With an upcoming radio interview and my parents’ 60th Anniversary celebration, I was excited about a beautiful mixture of work and pleasure. A call between flights brought disappointing news. The radio program was canceled due to a backlog caused by Hurricane Sandy. Then, I found out that my mother had fallen down a flight of stairs. From plane to rental car to ambulance to emergency room — things were not at all what I had anticipated. Within 24 hours, my mom was surrounded by everyone in the family, like troops rallying to help her get through it. Two fractured bones, Alzheimer’s and hospital walls weren’t going to dampen our enthusiasm to celebrate 60 years of love. With an army of caregivers, my mom has already transitioned to the acute rehabilitation unit and begun physical therapy. With LOVE and HOPE—Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!
Joan & Ernie – Wheeling Down Memory Lane
Hope is like a spark; if the conditions are right, it can spread like wildfire. Hope feeds the soul, ignites passion, and inspires others. A world without it is like a world without possibility. Tucked inside each of us is a child-like spark that says: never forget to dream, play and imagine. HOPE is the extraordinary spark that says Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!
