Spark of Hope #62 – The long ride during this last book tour gave me the chance to listen to a couple of audio books by Malcolm Gladwell. His book, The Tipping Point, is one of my favorites. I love his premise that it’s not one big thing that creates a “tipping point,” but rather all the little things that make a big difference. I also appreciate Malcolm’s emphasis on contributors (mavens and connectors), as no good work is ever done alone. Listening to his stories not only helped pass the driving time, it helped me to reflect on my relationships, my work, and my goals. Philippians 4:8 kept popping into my mind as I became a “sponge” during this book tour, instead of presenting or leading workshops. “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable. If anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” That scripture speaks of how simple things make a big difference while encouraging us to dwell on good things. Little things seem to refresh our spirit the most, perhaps because they are the least complicated. Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday when we seek whatever is lovely and right—that’s where HOPE shines boldly!
It’s the season for ginger flowers – pure and lovely right outside my front door.
Hope is like a spark; if the conditions are right, it can spread like wildfire. Hope feeds the soul, ignites passion, and inspires others. A world without it is like a world without possibility. Tucked inside each of us is a child-like spark that says: never forget to dream, play and imagine. HOPE is the extraordinary spark that says Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!
