Spark of Hope #34 – Alzheimer’s is one of the cruelest diseases I know. Treatment is severely limited, prognosis is anything but promising and it always ends in life being stolen away…one chapter at a time. Oddly though, in the middle of its cruelty there are blessings. Recently I had the fun of attending my mother’s 79th surprise birthday party. With over 1000 miles between us, there aren’t enough opportunities to visit each other. My mother cried happy tears and she recognized me. She opened her gifts and commented on each one. These are some of the blessings inside Alzheimer’s—ordinary moments become extraordinary because they aren’t always possible. Even distance and disease can’t keep Huge Outcomes from being Possible Everyday!
Hope is like a spark; if the conditions are right, it can spread like wildfire. Hope feeds the soul, ignites passion, and inspires others. Tucked inside each of us is a child-like spark that says: never forget to dream, play and imagine. HOPE is the extraordinary spark that says Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!
