Caregiving is a collective effort. The emotional and physical toll of illness can be as heavy on the caregiver as it is on patient. This past week I needed to be caregiving in two cities, on opposite sides of the map. I boarded a flight for New York to help my family transition my mother to a care unit for recovery from a fall. At the same time, I left behind a team in Florida to orchestrate stocking deliveries. With Alzheimer’s on the one end and cancer on the other end, I was clinging to hope, love and prayer. Extra encouragement came through Hope and Hugs Elfie, joining my team of Love Angels. “Operation–We’re Gonna Love Them Through It” was taken to another level with Christmas elves and love angels Caregiving Across America!
