Spark of Hope #78 – Living “Willie Wonka” Style

Spark of Hope #78Willie Wonka and The Chocolate Factory was one of my children’s favorite movies and lately my 80-year old mother’s love for chocolate would make her leap for joy to go to Willie’s place. While stopped in traffic the other day, my Mom suddenly exclaimed, “they’re going to run over those candy bars. Just look at them!” I looked over and saw sparkling silver rectangles, all lined up along the sun-filled roadway. One silver reflector after another — glistening just like the inside foil wrappers of a candy bar. I gave her a kid-indulged sort of smile and said, “they’re actually reflectors but I sure like the thought of them being candy bars a lot more!” With an “aha” look, she smiled back and then laughed. Being able to laugh at oneself is one of life’s greatest blessings. Alzheimer’s disease might steal a lot of things–but don’t let it steal your humor! Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday–especially when you reflect HOPE to others!

If All The Raindrops…

Hope is like a spark; if the conditions are right, it can spread like wildfire. Hope feeds the soul, ignites passion, and inspires others. A world without it is like a world without possibility. Tucked inside each of us is a child-like spark that says: never forget to dream, play and imagine. HOPE is the extraordinary spark that says Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!
