Spark of Hope # 77 – Keep Looking Up…and then every once in awhile Look Down!

Spark of Hope # 77 – “Never bend your head, always hold it high. Look the world in the face.” Helen Keller’s profound words, strength, and courage have continued to inspire the world long after her 88 years here on earth. This last week has been filled with celebration for my family. With my grown children, sisters, nieces, and great-nephew arriving for my Mom’s 80th birthday, it was a reunion in many ways. My sisters took back caregiver roles for our parents, my husband and I spent some overdue quiet time, my children reconnected with their cousins, and young & old (grands and great grands!) loved on one another. I reminisced with my sisters about the challenges we have faced during our lifetimes. Together, we continue looking the world in the face, one courageous step at a time. Then, as if a gentle reminder from Heaven itself, I found my path graced with hope today as I stepped out of my car and onto the pavement. This simple ribbon of hope (actually a rubber band) was lying there in front of me. Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday with HOPE — even if you’re looking down once in awhile!

Hope is like a spark; if the conditions are right, it can spread like wildfire. Hope feeds the soul, ignites passion, and inspires others. A world without it is like a world without possibility. Tucked inside each of us is a child-like spark that says: never forget to dream, play and imagine. HOPE is the extraordinary spark that says Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!

  1. Hope is everywhere one looks if there is God’ s love. I am happy that your family has found the opportunity and blessing of sweet communion. If one has a heart of love, it is not too hard to see that God has scattered hope ribbons on the ground everywhere – in the smiles of precious children – and in the glowing faces and smiles of authors and writers like yourself . Thank you for sharing and offering glimpses of this precious commodity of hope from heaven, my friend.
