Spark of Hope #33 – Trusting Your Gifts

Spark of Hope #33 – My love for speaking has been with me since childhood. My mother would often say, “you have more to say than all five of you kids!” I guess I learned early on to speak out boldly. I’ll never forget the first group of teenagers that I spoke to about God’s gifts for them. After sharing my inspiration for writing with 700 of them who packed that Middle TN Christian School library, one young man boldly stood out to me. He thanked me for being there and said I had inspired him to trust his gift of music. Months later, I invited him to play at my first “coffee shop” event. His ventures that followed were wonderful to witness. Last season Colton made the top 40 on American Idol, and now this season he’s in the top 10! Colton is an amazing example that when you trust the gifts God has placed within you, Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!

Colton Dixon at JoZoara’s October 2010 – I’m so proud of him!

Hope is like a spark; if the conditions are right, it can spread like wildfire. Hope feeds the soul, ignites passion, and inspires others. Tucked inside each of us is a child-like spark that says: never forget to dream, play and imagine. HOPE is the extraordinary spark that says Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!

  1. Thanks again, I think Colton will make it to the top this time. When you believe that what you say and do are part of a mission for God and the good, no one can shut you up, slow you down, or sap your strength. Blessings to you Maryann and please give your mom and extra hug for me since I cannot hug mine this week-end.
