Spark of Hope #22 – Through a Child’s Eyes…and Mom’s

Spark of Hope #22 – As I was waiting to have my annual mammogram yesterday, I received a text message. It was from a sweet friend of mine who’s battling stage 4 metasticized breast cancer to the lungs. She is a light of hope in my life as I watch her journey. She’s honest about the difficulties she’s facing, yet she routinely shares hopeful moments with thousands of people. Her light of hope is so much brighter than the darkness of cancer! During her 1st battle with breast cancer, a friend gave her my book, When Your Mom Has Cancer. Her text message yesterday was through her child’s eyes. When she told her son that her hair was going to come out again and asked if that bothered him, he replied “No. I remember the book. You’re beautiful mommy.” Through his words, I felt the light of hope as happy tears filled my eyes.  I thanked God that Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday for my friend.

Hope is like a spark; if the conditions are right, it can spread like wildfire. Hope feeds the soul, ignites passion, and inspires others. Tucked inside each of us is a child-like spark that says: never forget to dream, play and imagine. HOPE is the extraordinary spark that says Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!

  1. Braydon uses that book to know about each step. He is her caretaker and boyfriend. He looks at her as a hero and his first love. Thank you for writing it.

    1. I’ll never forget seeing the tattered copy of “his” book in hand when I met you both…melts my heart everytime I think of it. Thanks for being a huge blessing in my life. (((H)))
