Spark of Hope #133 – Hope of The Butterfly

Spark of Hope #133 – From the first blog post written in 2011, I envisioned the whisper of hope as a colorful presence. If we get too busy with daily agendas or overwhelmed by the challenges, we may dismiss the utter power of hope – for it is often but a whisper. The butterfly paints a perfect picture of hope. It flutters about, inaudible, too easily missed. We must make time for quiet moments, when God whispers and the world is loud. The butterfly reminds us to be watchful in such quiet moments, to pay attention to the subtleties, where hope is experienced and heart-felt. It is often the smallest, quietest acts which create the biggest, most beautiful ripples in this life. This morning when I contacted the Panhandle Butterfly House, I was reminded of the potential in a single spark of hope. We shared ideas, and merged passions, to begin creating an event for Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month.  Together, we plan to launch more hope in our little corner of the world, butterflies included.

Where do you see evidence of the power of hope? Count the butterflies … they are quietly subtle yet beautifully significant.

Hope is like a spark; if the conditions are right, it can spread like wildfire. Hope feeds the soul, ignites passion, and inspires others. Tucked inside each of us is a child-like spark that says: never forget to dream, play, and imagine.
