Spark of Hope #102 – Perfectly Broken

smallProShot2Spark of Hope #102 – I’ll never forget the moment when I woke up in the middle of the night to the answer. Call it intuition, call it coincidence, call it God. I believe it was the latter … answering a question I’d repeated since writing the first book. “Why me God … why would you choose me for these painful journeys? That night, all at once, I felt my chest swell as I heard the word “compassion” resonate loud and clear through my mind. More than ever before I understood that helping in life’s difficult journeys wasn’t about me or my abilities. It was about God reflecting the brokenness in my life to perfectly restore others. As I undergo shoulder surgery tomorrow, I’ll lose the use of my right arm for many weeks to come. There in the midst of being perfectly broken, I know the word “compassion” will gain even deeper meaning in my life. I’ll be writing about the insights that keep me going and make Huge Outcomes Possible Everyday — that’s how God’s HOPE operates! 😉

Hope is like a spark; if the conditions are right, it can spread like wildfire. Hope feeds the soul, ignites passion, and inspires others. Tucked inside each of us is a child-like spark that says: never forget to dream, play and imagine. HOPE is the extraordinary spark that says Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!

  1. Maryann,
Wonderful reflection on how God uses us in our brokenness. May The Lord give you strength and recovered health ahead and may The Lord guide the hands of the doctors tomorrow, Praying you will be back very soon offering hope in your writing, presenting and encouraging others. Take care my friend!
