San Francisco Book Tour News

9/2/10: Thanks Leslie, Manager of the Markstein Cancer Center — for meeting with me, adopting The Little Pink Books, and the tour of the patient resource center and breast wellness clinic, Alta Bates Summit in Oakland CA.  Your center is an example for others to follow with its calm, inviting atmosphere.  The spa robes for women undergoing mammograms or other tests were a special touch I haven’t seen before! And your resource center mirrored a peaceful library setting complete with computers, magazines and books and receptionist—just beautiful. Plus the healthy-eats cafe was a refreshing lunch and positive example of wellness!

9/3/10: Thank you for opening your door to me, Naomi with such a last minute call! It was wonderful to meet with you at University of California San Francisco at the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center & Ida and Joseph Friend Cancer Resource Center.  In the midst of a busy city, your center is a welcome break to absorb information & drink in the quiet.  Thank you for adopting our series and sharing our visit as a feature in your departmental email–“new books to help families cope with cancer.”  Thanks also to Chris at the “friends of friends” giftshop for meeting with me virtually unannounced.  My visit was certainly a blessed day for Pink hope!

Book Tours that combine work with visiting loved ones are a special treat!  This San Francisco book tour gave me the chance to see this amazingly fun city with my daughter, her boyfriend and my nephew—and my husband joined me on this West Coast tour! Thank you to all of them for their support and encouragement, and most of all, for their love.  No good work is ever done alone!
